Ozone has been registered as an active substance in the EU since 1.07.2024 (EU Regulation 2023/1078). Any marketing of an ozone-producing product requires authorisation. The M-MX Ozonator is registered as a biocidal product, which means that a mechanic or other end-user can legally produce ozone with it.

The M-MX Ozonator by Marelli is registered under number 9853/24 and is a legal ozone generating product. It is therefore certified as biocidal, so it can be used to decontaminate vehicles and premises in accordance with the latest EU regulation.

The product removes all contaminants found in the vehicle cabin (bacteria, viruses, fungi). Its use may even be possible in a bus or large cabs. The production of ozone through non-certified equipment may expose the user to severe penalties from the Sanitary Inspectorate or the Regional Environmental Inspectorate. Other models in the Marelli range have a printer and a sensor that measures the ozone concentration in real time.
